There was Much Support the GLBT community on Friday August
30th, 2002 by Making Lemons in to Lemonade
Over $500 was raised
to support the
Pride Collective and Community Center
This gathering was an event that drew in
public support and funds to support area GLBT organizations. This community effort was a
pro-active response to Hate Speech and anti-gay literature and the Threatened Presence of
the Westboro Baptist Church Picket of the United Way of Cass Clay. The goal of this event
was to put a positive message out to the community and to bolster public support for
peace, harmony, acceptance and encouragement of diversity.
