The Theater of Resistance is a unique outlet, that will incorporate theatrical components such as spectacle, pageantry, spoken word, vignettes, music, audience participation, enactment of scenes etc. –to create a context and structure for communication of ideas in a way that simple preaching, lecturing or speechifying cannot accomplish. This experience will allow students to explore ideas, give examples, to create within the context of how theater can be used as a non-violent transformative tool for a just society.

This project is to be a supportive tool for variety of young people who may or may not have an outlet of expression. Students are not alone, and this is an opportunity for them to learn from their own experiences, and others, to realize that they are not alone, and that they can overcome feelings of animosity, anger, confusion, loss, etc. The theatrical components are to be used to heighten communication to the general public, on what issues are affecting our young people. Communication through the use of symbolism both verbal, and visual.
